SUMMARY:

The Senior Accounts Payable Specialist reports directly to the Accounting Manager. The position provides critical support for processing the day-to-day vendor invoice and payment obligations, and ensuring a prompt, accurate monthly payables close in QAD.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
The position is responsible for processing various types of accounts payable transactions including critical vendor invoices, wire transactions and maintaining QAD vendor master records.
The Accounts Payable Specialist is also responsible for the preparation of monthly account reconciliations and journal entries, reviewing exception reports, documenting processes and procedures, preparing 1099 forms, and processing wire transfers.
The position interacts with internal and external customers in responding to inquiries or report requests.
Daily accounts payable functions in QAD, including vouchering, check runs and wire payment input
Prompt resolution of vendor inquiries
Documentation of payables processes and procedures
Assist with QAD payables implementation
Reconciliation of un-invoiced receipts account, including resolution of outstanding items
Assist with implementation of Sarbanes-Oxley payables controls
1099 preparation
Special projects as required
REQUIREMENTS
QUALIFICATIONS:
1+year QAD payables working knowledge
3+ years of accounts payable processing experience
Associate degree in Accounting preferred
Demonstrate experience with general ledger account reconciliations including month end closing processes and knowledge of accounting principles
Prior 1099 processing experience
Strong communication skills both verbal and written
The ability to multi-task and willingness to learn new skills
Proficiency Excel to create account reconciliations
Proficiency with Word to document processes and procedures
Team oriented person who can focus on the details
The ability to work effectively in a high growth environment and a rapidly changing organization
The ability to meet stringent month end closing processes
