Senior Accountant/Grants Manager

Purpose:
Our client, a media and broadcasting company, is searching for a Senior Accountant/Grants Manager.

Purpose:
Ensures accuracy and timeliness in accounting procedures (in compliance with GAAP), compliance with all grant requirements, and provides timely reports to the Controller. Manages staff and operations of Projects & Grants section.

Requirements:
-Ensures accuracy and timeliness in accounting procedures (in compliance with GAAP).
-Reconciling projects and commitments to G/L accounts.
-Reconciling unrestricted, temporarily restricted, & permanently restricted net assets on a monthly basis.
-Tracking deferred revenue and completing monthly revenue recognition for all projects & local underwriting contracts; processing related wire transfer requests and completing related basis for billings.
-Ensures OMB Circular regulations, agreement guidelines & grantor requirements.
-Developing and maintaining schedules for all grant/contract terms and requirements.
-Completing or ensuring completion of all monthly & quarterly Federal report requirements, in compliance with governing, award, & contractual mandates.
-Providing monthly reports, including analysis of all non-Federal grants & projects, to relevant grants/project managers.
-Providing cost analyses/estimations for use in budget preparation for future contracts.
-Managing A-133 audit and AFR examinations and audits.
-Developing Indirect Cost Rate.
-Assisting with negotiation of Indirect Cost/General & Administrative/Overhead Cost Rate proposal.
-Manages the staff and operations
-Prioritizing, organizing, distributing, and coordinating the flow of work.
-Training, guiding, and advising staff.
-Ensuring that section?s goals are achieved and policies, procedures, and schedules are followed.
-Making personnel action recommendations.
-Resolving routine operating problems as they arise.


Qualifications:
-Bachelor's degree in Accounting plus three to five years' related experience. CPA strongly preferred.
-Ability to use MS Office. Proficiency with Great Plains, or comparable accounting software package, strongly preferred.
-Ability to work effectively, both independently and in a team environment, in an atmosphere of multiple projects, shifting priorities, and deadline pressures.
-Ability to handle volume with close attention to detail, outstanding numerical accuracy and meticulous follow-through.
-Excellent organizational skills including ability to prioritize and track several projects simultaneously.
-Excellent oral and written communication skills as necessary to communicate effectively with persons on all levels
