Senior Accountant - Casino

Carnival Cruise Lines, one of South Florida's top organizations and a member of the S&P 500, is currently seeking a Senior Accountant in the Casino Department based in our corporate headquarters in Miami, Florida.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:
•Review financial accounting results of onboard Casino operations.
•Prepare balance sheet reconciliations.
•Reconcile intercompany transactions with subsidiaries.
•Prepare journal entries.
•Assist in managing SOX compliance including testing and reporting.
•Continuously analyze financial performance of onboard Casino operations.
•Create customized financial reports for accounting and operational purposes utilizing the casino financial system and a query tool as needed by management.
•Assist in redesigning the department’s accounting processes to make the processes more efficient.
•Complete special projects as requested by management.

REQUIREMENTS
Position requires a minimum of three to five years accounting and audit experience (“Big Four” a plus) and a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (CPA is preferred). Knowledge of GAAP is required and knowledge of casino accounting and internal controls is preferred. The ideal candidate must be able to work as a team member and independently on multiple projects and meet deadlines while ensuring quality results. The individual must be highly detail-oriented, possess proven organizational and analytical skills, and be able and willing to work efficiently in a fast-paced work environment. Additionally, personal initiative and professional enthusiasm are important skills for this position. The individual must be comfortable with 20% travel, have excellent interpersonal and English verbal/written communication skills, and be highly proficient in Microsoft Office (including Visio). Familiarity with Oracle is highly desirable, but not required.
