Senior Accountant
Position Summary:
The Senior Accountant is responsible for compiling various financial statements, information, and reports for management use. Applies principles of accounting to analyze financial information and prepare reports by usage of the financial accounting standards board guidelines that govern the preparation of corporate financial reports and is recognized as authoritative by the SEC.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Compiles and analyzes financial information to prepare entries to accounts, such as general ledger accounts, documenting business transactions.
Recommends financial accounting treatment by analyzing accounting rules & regulations (FASB, EITF, AIPCA, SEC, & SOP).
Analyzes financial information detailing assets, liabilities, and capital, and prepares balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reports to summarize and interpret current and projected company financial position for other managers.
Prepares asset, liability, and capital account entries by compiling and analyzing account information.
Reconciles financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information.
Reviews, investigates, and corrects errors and inconsistencies in financial entries, documents, and reports.
Complies with Federal, State, and local financial legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions.
Monitors compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and company procedures.
Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
Education and/or Experience (years):
BS in Accounting.
3-5 years of experience.
Undergraduate Accounting Degree, CPA required.
Audit firm experience preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Proven knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and IRS Codes and other governmental regulations related to accounting.
Ability to work in a team environment.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office software platform: Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook.
QAD experience is a plus.

CPA
