Senior Account Manager
Primary Responsibility:
Under the general supervision of the RVP Specialty Sales and Marketing, this position is responsible for all issues related to account management. Duties include but not limited to budget management, acquisition of new business within the account, customer satisfaction, troubleshooting both customer and consumer complaints, and build relationships with key account decision makers, execution of marketing plans and lead business reviews. Focus internal resources to achieve customer expectations.
Minimum Requirements:
A minimum of five (5) years of sales and/or marketing experience required. Five (5+) years in the food distribution industry, and experience managing large territories and diverse product offerings preferred. MS Office, primarily Excel and PowerPoint, Lotus notes and AS 400 skills required. Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
Essential Functions:
•Responsible for implementing marketing strategies, planning, and administrative responsibilities to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction is maintained. Develop and increase sales revenue to meet assigned targets.
•Become actively involved in presenting sales and marketing presentations for key accounts. Assist RVP Specialty Sales and Marketing negotiate key accounts, and assist in developing marketing plans for current stores within the account as well as any new acquisitions made by the account.
•Assist with sales plans, and attend trade shows. Participate in education and training conferences. Coordinate and assist with site selection and agenda preparation for sales meetings.
•Keep informed of new products, services and other general information of interest to the key account . Check on competitive activity and develop new methods of ensuring the company's continued service of the account.
•Act as primary contact in developing customer relations and sales.
•Present new items and promotional/marketing plans to respective customers monthly.
•Prepare and manage sales plans for annual plans, promotional and marketing plans. Participate in food shows, distribution drives and others as needed.
•Present monthly category and business reviews to the customer.
•Develop and manage implementation plans to meet the needs of the customer, category management, and promotion/marketing plans.
•Present and manage authorized lists included all changes.
•Work with customer plan-o-gram departments and integrate cluster marketing and category review information.
•Prepare and manage all customer and TOL required forms and procedures for new items, promotions, invoicing, shipping and receiving.
•Work with Regional Sales Managers to manage the staffing of resets by the merchandizing staff.
•Work with Marketing Analysts and Sr. Category Buyers to present and implement cluster marketing with the customer utilizing Spectra data and category review information.
•Implement processes to develop and maintain plan-o-gram integrity in all the customer's stores.
•Identify, assess and present the impact of emerging trends, demographics, and/or categories/mix. Create strategies for the customer to be proactive in response to the changes.
•Monitor new item and category mix changes.
•Interact with respective Sr. Category Buyers, Regional Sales Mgrs. and Marketing Analysts to disseminate or gather information for the required analyses and presentations.
•Other duties and special projects as requested
