SSC - COLLECTIONS ASSOCIATE

Purpose:
The Collections Associate is primarily responsible for collecting past due or credit limit challenged receivable balances. In addition, the Collections associates will have limited ability to provide credit limit overrides after researching account balance history and status.

Job Responsibilities:
Contacting customers and arranging payment to bring receivable
customer balances current or under existing credit limits;
Recommend accounts for 3rd party collections when all collection
efforts are exhausted.
Recommend accounts for write off as needed when all efforts have
failed to collect the balance.
Following-up on customer promises to bring accounts current;
Maintaining a log of all collection activity on each customer's account;
Maintaining a log of all collection activity on NSF checks;
Initiating a problem resolution process on customer disputes;
Initiating credit memos at the dealerships or creating journal entry
requests, where appropriate, in response to customer disputes;
Initiating credit overrides, within allowed guidelines; and
Supporting the Cash Application Processors in reconciling
discrepancies between customer payments received and their
respective statements.
Minimize the 120+ collections category for reserve dollars.

Required Qualifications:
Education Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Experience Requirements:
Credit or collections experience (1 year minimum)
Strong mathematical/analytical skills
Strong communications skills
The position requires a high degree of organizational skills and must be highly motivated and require minimal supervision.
