SR PROGRAMMER ANALYST

Blue Cross Blue Shield of Delaware has an immediate opening for a Sr. Programmer Analyst (Job #000712) with a focus on Assembler coding/language experience. This position will be responsible for the day-to-day support of our internal claims processing system (TBS) in order to provide planning, development, enhancement and/or maintenance of this operating system and its impact on all related corporate areas. Prior experience in the health insurance field is a definite plus.

REQUIREMENTS
This position requires a degree/certificate in Computer Science/Info Systems or related area and 2 to 5 years of info technology experience OR equivalent total experience. In-depth knowledge of programming and languages used by BCBSD to include Assembler (minimum of 1 year of concentrated Assembler coding experience), IMS/DB/DC, COBOL, and Easytrieve Plus required. Broad knowledge and working experience with health care financing systems that include claims, enrollment, and billing functions is highly preferred. In addition, the successful candidate must have proven ability to effectively plan, schedule and complete assigned tasks, produce high quality computer programs to satisfy established requirements, and possess effective oral and written communications skills.
