Individuals will initiate and receive collection phone calls on past due accounts (30+ days delinquent) and complete appropriate system documentation in accordance with corporate policy and objectives. In addition, collectors will handle incoming payoff calls from customers, provide problem resolution as necessary, prepare repossession files, and initiate extensions and amendments agreements within prescribed guidelines. Collectors will review collection calls and various collection reports (production reports, delinquency reports) with a Collections Manager. Individuals will also be responsible for assisting other collectors during their orientation period or with questions or difficult calls. Other duties/activities will be performed as assigned and/or requested.
REQUIREMENTS
High School diploma or equivalent required. Two years post-secondary education preferred. Working knowledge of collection process required with at least one year collection experience preferred. Proficient on PC using various software programs. General knowledge of customer service and consumer finance helpful. Ability to interact and communicate effectively by phone with a variety of individual customers. Ability to work independently and maintain a strong level of self motivation.
