Job Description: This position has system-wide responsibilities and is not a regional position. The position is responsible for coordinating the monitoring and reporting processes for all government grants received by CHRISTUS Health and affiliated entities. This includes responsibility for the development of reporting tools, collection of grant data and preparation of audit schedules necessary to ensure compliance with the audit requirements per OMB Circular A-133. The Senior Accountant – Government Grants is also responsible for the development and presentation of educational programs related to grant compliance and A-133 audit requirements. The position requires a thorough understanding of rules and regulations relating to government grants, experience in performing research of government grants and experience with A-133 grant compliance.

REQUIREMENTS
Education/Skills:
Bachelor degree in Accounting/Business Administration; CPA highly preferred
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word. Knowledge of Microsoft Access a plus.
Knowledge of GAAP and other applicable regulatory rules, regulations & requirements.
Knowledge of A133 single audit requirements and grant reporting.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent organizational skills.

Experience:
5-10 years in Accounting/Tax Reporting
Experience in research relating to government grant compliance and A133 single audit requirements preferred
Experience required in a deadline-oriented, multi-task environment
Proven ability to interact with all levels of Management and other Associates


Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications:
CPA highly preferred
