SENIOR MANAGER of FINANCIAL REPORTING

The Westfield Group (ASX Code: WDC) is an internally managed, vertically integrated, shopping center group undertaking ownership, development, design, construction, funds/asset management, property management, leasing and marketing activities. Westfield has more than 43 years of experience in the shopping center business and employs in excess of 4,000 staff worldwide.GENERAL OVERVIEW:The position will be an integral member of the corporate finance group, reporting directly to the Director of Finance. This position will be responsible for all external U.S. GAAP financial reporting for Westfield America, Inc., and a quarterly internal reporting package. The position is also responsible for the timely semi-annual reporting of U.S. results for inclusion in its Australian parent and Westfield Group reporting. The Senior Manager of Financial Reporting currently supervises 3 managers. In addition this person will monitor for new accounting and/or auditing issues and the effects on the Company.QUALIFICATIONS:The ideal candidate would be a CPA with 10+ years of public and private accounting experience, preferably with a top 4 accounting firm and have real estate industry experience. The candidate will also have a strong US GAAP understanding, especially in the application, accounting and reporting for cash flows, derivatives, acquisitions, disposals, debt and consolidation/equity accounting. The candidate must have excellent communication skills and be able to present issues and solutions in a clear and concise manner. Additionally, experience in a rapidly growing environment with a record of being able to meet strict deadlines would be a plus. They must show the ability to supervise, train and motivate subordinates. The ability to multi task and strong delegation skills are also required.RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Assist in the overall supervision of the financial reporting group
•Review of consolidated financial statement, as well as, assist with the review of the individual stand alone financial statements
•Liaison with external auditors and coordination of semi-annual audits
•Research US GAAP accounting issues
•Preparation/review of quarterly internal reporting package
•Preparation of GAAP reporting package for Australian parent and Westfield Group reporting under International Financial Reporting Standards
