SENIOR ACCOUNTANT / FINANCIAL ANALYST

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Senior Accountant (SA) will directly supervise two or more Accountants and be responsible for Accounts Payable, Inventory and Payroll. The SA manages the complete accounting cycle for these areas, reviews and approves activity reports and account analyses. The SA will play a key role in the budgeting process, monthly closing, and financial analysis and reporting. He/She will also perform other duties as assigned by the Accounting Manager.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Effective supervision and management of assigned staff

Support Accounting Team as needed for the consistent achievement of its five day goal for the monthly closing.

Timely and accurate analysis of assigned general ledger accounts and reconciliation of subledgers for Inventory and Accounts Payable

Timely and accurate processing of transactions in Inventory, Cost of Goods Sold, Accounts Payable and payroll.

Complete and accurate A/P accruals available in accordance with the monthly closing calendar

Timely review of purchase journals for proper account coding

Maintenance of Oracle General Ledger chart of accounts and report definitions

Financial Planning for all Companies, Divisions and Cost Centers

Assist in Financial Forecasting: Monthly, Quarterly & Annually

Assist in Monthly Financial Reporting

Assist in Monthly, Quarterly & Annually Financial Analysis & review as compared to Financial Plan & Operating Plan.

Assist in Financials Pro Forma and Projections

Analysis & Reporting of Payroll Expenses such as Headcount, Commissions, Health and Other Benefits analysis and planning

Providing focus on key trends in revenue, expense, expenditures, policies, and external factors. Highlighting major areas of concerns and recommending solutions

Internal Policies, Procedures and Controls and Developing and implementing Cost Savings and Efficiency Measures

Maintaining Oracle Enterprise Systems

Maintain Insurance Policies and administer premium payments in accordance with policy terms

Special projects as assigned by the Accounting Manager
REQUIREMENTS
ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS:
BA/BS in Accounting or Finance and 2 – 5 years in a supervisory role

Public Accounting Experience a plus

Proficient in Oracle System Applications or similar ERP systems

Strong understanding of Accounting Principles

Excellent verbal/written communication and organizational skills

Effective management skills

Detail-oriented and able to work under pressure within strict deadlines

Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Access and PowerPoint)

Strong analytical skills

Flexible and adaptable to changing requirements
