The PricewaterhouseCoopers Denver State and Local Tax group is seeking two experienced Sales and Use Tax Managers to join their practice. The candidates should have prior state and local tax consulting experience in a Big 4 or National Firm environment and 5-8 years of experience overall or comparable industry/government experience. Successful candidates will have a strong technical background in tax research and consulting related to income and franchise and/or sales and use tax.

B.S. in Accouting, Master's in Taxation Preferred. Must be a CPA.Essential Requirements:

Highly motivated to take the initiative for own development as well as contribute to the development of others. The candidate will have the opportunity to network extensively with existing and prospective clients and to assume a high degree of responsibility with the firm. The candidate should be able to effectively prioritize and handle multiple tasks as well as manage team members.
Anticipated projects may include: Research/review of state income/franchise, sales tax and transactional tax issues. Respond to notices issued by states and local taxing jurisdictions. Assist multi-state companies with state and local tax controversies which includes preparing clients for discussions with auditors, representing clients at administrative appeals and appeal meetings and preparing written protests. Negotiate settlement terms with state and local taxing authorities. Practice development activities focused on forming strong relationships with client and governmental personnel and working to resolve complex state and local tax issues. Internal and external marketing and sales, both independently and as a member of a team. Proactive identification and presentation of multistate tax opportunities to internal and external clients. Review memoranda on state and local tax issues for corporations, partnerships and LLCs. Manage large tax analysis projects involving multiple jurisdictions. Prepare ruling requests and respond to state and local tax audits. Assess and manage voluntary disclosure projects. Assist in due diligence projects on an as-needed basis.
