The Royalty Accountant is responsible for all royalty accounting and reporting with respect to the Sony/BMG US Record Labels.The Royalty Accountant's responsibilities may include, but will not be limited to:Executing monthly flash, which includes but is not limited to, updating manual crossing schedule, updating artist capitalized balance and gross spending schedules, preparing monthly journal entries, create topside entries to the TRS system
Preparing monthly actual talent expense report for SMU management
Assisting in analyzing, calculating and preparing Foreign TV Advertising adjustments
Administering all recoupable marketing charges for SMU artists which includes analyzing and processing quarterly marketing recoupment
Performing marketing recoupability analysis for SMU artists
Posting recoupable marketing charges to artist accounts in GRS
Liaisoning with Sony Labels and Sony Finance group for various issues relating to artist/project balances
Assisting in gathering support for third party audit requests
Maintaining link of royaltor accounts with talent ID's in TRS
Responsible for accurate contractual interpretation/adherence with regard to provisions set forth for recoupable marketing chargesOur requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel, Access, Word and Outlook
Ability to quickly learn various in-house system applications such as GRS, TRS, ISAMS, LIS, ARTS and VistaPlus
Previous work or internship experience is preferredRequired skills:
