Rooms Controller

Responsible for assisting the Tour Group Coordinator in coordinating arrivals and departures,and assuring the responsibilities of the Guest Service representatives, as needed, ensuring optimum guest service and satisfaction.Maintains a working knowledge of Grand Casino's property, as well as special events on and near property, in order to advise guests of same, whenever possible.Responds to guests' requests, complaints or inquiries courteously and promptly.Coordinates group arrivals and departures with tour group coordinator; oversees room block assignments.Works with the Casino Special Programs Coordinator to coordinate VIP arrivals and departures.Communicates with housekeeping and Room Services, to verify that all special requests and amenities are handled prior to guest's arrival.Reviews arrival report and block special requests.Monitors and balances room and bed options.Processes casino reservations.Routinely inspects guest rooms and public areas of the Hotel, preparing status reports with findings.
REQUIREMENTS
Education/and or Experience:
High School diploma or general education degree (GED) required. Some college courses in Hotel Management preferred. Excellent communication and organizational skills. Previous Hotel/Motel experience preferred. Must have a high level of independence and initiative and be able to maintain a professional, positive demeanor in stressful situations, remaining polite to the guests at all times.
