Revenue Accounting Analyst

This key financial analyst position will be responsible for developing and implementing formalized revenue recognition controls.In addition the position will focus on: Creating automated processes to track budget adjustments, percent complete (POC), revenue recognized and billing position. Supporting revenue-generating Directors and Managers responsible for revenue with information and analysis necessary to meet monthly revenue commitments. Reviewing and analyzing effectiveness of percent complete (POC) estimates. Working closely with revenue generating groups in Client Implementation Services and Interfacing and functional departments to understand revenue inputs and methods. Help drive optimal cash flow from contract.Perform creative, high quality analysis on financial information to ensure its accuracy, identify potential issues and help drive change that add value to the business. Assist external auditors with year-end audit and execute internal audit programs. Complete special finance revenue projects as assigned by management.


Requirements:

The successful candidate will have financial revenue expertise in the following areas: Solid knowledge of revenue recognition rules (SOP 81-1 & 97-2) along with demonstrated background in developing and implementing new processes and process improvements. Understanding of Percent Complete Revenue Recognition and the ability to apply POC concepts to automate a process that is currently a set of manual tasks. Strong communication skills and the ability to explain complex financial information to non-financial managers. 5-7 years of corporate finance background with at least 2-3 years in a revenue recognition role handling income from consulting and/or professional services sources. B.A/B.S in accounting, finance, economics or related field with an emphasis on financial controls, auditing and revenue recognition.
