The Revenue Accountant will be primarily responsible for the review and revenue decisions for sales contracts, the reporting function within the revenue group and supervision of the Revenue Associate.Essential Job Functions:Coordinate month end close ' review all closed contracts and make revenue recognition determination; documents decisions and prepare data for billing
Work with Director of Revenue in reviewing sales contracts and documenting revenue decisions
Respond to calls from sales teams regarding revenue recognition on contracts under negotiation/escalate to Revenue Director as necessary
Facilitate quarter end review and year end audit with external auditors
Prepare quarter end consolidated reports, as required by senior management, including consolidated deferred schedule and Top 10 customers by revenue.
Maintain the Bookings spreadsheet
Track all key statistics related to each closed contract in Bookings Database.
Prepare Monthly Operating Report relating to Revenue
Maintain monthly reconciliations of general ledger accounts relating to revenuePrepare monthly reconciliation of DealTracker to Bookings Spreadsheet
Prepare VSOE calculations for Professional Services, Training, and Maintenance in accordance with the schedule put forth in the VSOE policy
Prepare and maintain proper accounting of Sales Assistance Fees and Partner Royalty Fees
Be a backup to the Director of Revenue for contract negotiations, contract reviews, and monthly reporting
Prepare contract checklistProcess Deal Desk approval requests for North American deals
Assist in evaluation of prospective customers for credit worthiness including review of financial information and credit ratings
Other duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS
Selection Criteria: BS/BA in Accounting/Finance
CPA preferable
5+ years relevant experience
Experience in software industry
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Experience with PeopleSoft strongly desired
Excellent interpersonal skills
