Reimbursement Coordinator/Intake Specialist
U.S. Renal Care acquires, develops and operates dialysis centers in Texas and Arkansas. We are seeking Reimbursement Coordinators and Intake Specialists to be located in our new corporate headquarters in Addison, Texas.
Our Reimbursement/Intake Coordinators will maintain patient accounts, including follow-up with insurance carriers, file insurance, post insurance and personal payments, and manage A/R for accounts assigned in a timely and accurate manner.
Responsibilities will include:
•Posting insurance and private payer payments, while reviewing for proper reimbursement.
•Resolving Return-To-Provider issues and Explanation Of Benefit denials in a timely manner.
•Managing insurance responsibility A/R including: Following up on unpaid claims on a monthly basis, notating response on patient account, updating accounts with corrected information, rebilling, regenerating claims or providing insurance company with necessary documentation to facilitate payment.
•Managing patient responsibility A/R including: Establishment & monitoring of payment plans from responsible parties, sending monthly patient statements, determining appropriate write offs, etc.
•Performing follow up on unresolved account balances, including Return To Provider’s, Explanation Of Benefit denials and working A/R aging reports as directed. Providing insurance companies with requested information to facilitate payment.
•Resolving unapplied and line item credit balances by researching and requesting refunds.
REQUIREMENTS
•High School diploma or GED required. Minimum of two years of experience in a healthcare/medical office with one year preferably dedicated to reimbursement issues.
•Knowledge of medical terminology as well as knowledge of government and private insurer rules and regulations, including HIPAA.
•Knowledge of CPT, ICD-9 and HCPCS coding as well as prior dialysis billing requirements preferred.
•Proficient in use of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel. Ability to utilize the internet, specifically Medicare and Medicaid websites. Working knowledge of medical billing software, preferably Medical Manager.
•High level of accuracy, attention to detail and confidentiality.
•Ability to interact with all levels of personnel
