Reconcilement/Adjustment Spec II

Reconcile a variety of accounts in deposit operations on a daily basis and to be held accountable for researching and clearing any outstanding items in a timely manner following reconcilement policy. Make entries as necessary to correct error(s) as requested. Make entries to adjustment account to clear assigned cases according to BancGroup policy; enter and clear unidentified items daily and balance to G?L; serve as back-up for other positions in the department; research and clear any Item Processing holdover work on a daily basis.1.Responsible for the reconciliation of various accounts in deposit operations in a timely manner.
2.Notify appropriate departments/branches and other entities such as the Federal Reserve of outstanding items. Work with other operations departments to research and make necessary adjustments to clear outstanding items.
3.Keep the department manager informed of outstanding items and steps being taken to resolve them at all times.
4.Fill requests for information and copies accurately.
5.Locate and correct missing items or items posted incorrectly to another account.
6.Cross train in all areas of the department to serve as back-up when needed.
7.Make entries for corrections as required.
8. Process and clear all adjustment cases including but not limited to encoding errors, missing items, paid items and late return claims in a timely manner according to Colonial BancGroup policy and Federal Reserve rules.
9. Attend work on a regular basis, on time, and withstand varying degrees of stress.
High school graduate or equivalent; some college preferred. Three years bank operations experience required. Basic accounting knowledge preferred. Must be proficient with a 10-key calculator, and word processing and spreadsheet software.Strong verbal and written communication skills required to handle major contacts with bank staff and management and external entities and/or customers. Good research, problem solving, and organizational skills required. Mathematical aptitude and strong attention to detail is essential.
