Purchasing Associate and Support

We are sourcing candidates for an aerospace company in Whatcom County! This person will be responsible for the maintenance and management of customer accounts and/or purchase parts from OEMs in the UK and Germany. Primary tasks include providing price quotes, purchasing parts, tracking shipments and ensuring on-time delivery including other tasks as required to support the department objectives and as directed by the immediate supervisor.You will be responsible for the input and monitoring status of sales and purchase orders, responding to customer request for quotes with pricing and lead-time, track open purchase orders with OEMs to ensure on-time delivery, monitor customer open order account with regular follow-up and initiate the shipment of parts by processing packing slips. You will also develop and maintain relationships with assigned customers to promote a primary focal and to support their inventory planning for stocking, maintenance and shipment tracking, research vendor CMMs, IPCs and maintenance manuals to obtain and relay spares and in-service support information, work with A/P and A/R to research and resolve payment issues, research and resolve incoming and outgoing receiving problems, including damaged, missing, unidentified and incorrect parts and act as the backup Shipping and Receiving, including unpacking parts, receiving, and shipping parts to the customer.


Requirements:

Candidates must have 2+ years of experience in a support or entry level procurement position and have a knowledge of general sales and purchase order processing. Must have a good background with databases and Microsoft Great Plains business system a plus. An ability to communicate in a positive and professional manner with customer (verbal, written, leading conference calls and working with international customers), be able to establish priorities, work independently, and proceed with objectives with minimal supervision and experience with import brokerage and general shipping. Aerospace experience is a plus!
