Job Description:
The Business Development group of Ernst & Young's Financial Services Office (FSO) helps build new client relationships. Our team consists of talented professionals who thrive in a fast-paced team environment. The team effectively aligns business development and marketing activities with the firm's objectives and consistently delivers innovative solutions. The Communications and Pursuit Strategy (CaPS ) group within Business Development helps the business unit develop sales/pursuit materials for individual financial services companies in various industry segments (banking and capital markets, insurance, and asset management), with the goal of driving revenue growth. These materials include proposals, qualification documents, presentations, and other meeting documents (e.g., calling cards). The pursuit strategist plays an active role, end-to-end, in developing marketing messages, providing writing assistance, and managing document production. The pursuit strategist teams with client serving personnel and business development executives to develop these written materials and to coach pursuit teams prior to delivering oral presentations to clients or targets. They leverage knowledge of the firm’s desktop research tools, Center for Business Knowledge, and other resources, and efficiently and effectively use that knowledge to produce winning sales and pursuit documents that aid the business development process.Responsibilities: Develop proposals/presentations/other pursuit materials Respond to RFPs Attend and actively contribute to strategy, status, and follow-up meetings on pursuit materials Work closely with business development executives and senior management to develop proposal responses and pursuit messages that convey a customized approach to all pursuits Proofread, edit, and rewrite sections of materials to ensure readability and consistency of message and tone Act as focal point for collection of information from various sources Prioritize projects to ensure the timely, accurate completion of all assignments Participate in updating central document databaseErnst & Young LLP, an equal opportunity employer, values the diversity of our work force and the knowledge of our people.
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications: To qualify, candidates must have:Education: Bachelor's degree
Experience:
Five to seven years of experience writing proposals, business pieces and/or marketing materials (financial service industry preferred)
Knowledge and Skills:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills Experience with professional services proposals Ability to manage multiple, simultaneous projects - often with short deadlines. Ability to keep multiple members of pursuit team updated on status of deliverables and related issues Computer skills - excellent knowledge of Microsoft Word; PowerPoint and Excel Knowledge of the financial services industry and the ability to evaluate business issues and solutions and convert them to value propositions Ability to think creatively in the development of ideas and solutions Ability to facilitate pursuit team meetings, in coordination with sales executives Ability to work with technical as well as creative teams
