Property Tax Manager

The Property Tax Manager position is responsible for the following functions:

* Assure that property tax compliance systems are appropriately maintained.
* Oversee updating of compliance tax tables in Access database.
* Establish all personal property filing positions and assure that they are in compliance with legal requirements.
* Value vehicles for tax return filings.
* Assure that all U.S. personal property tax returns are accurately and timely filed while minimizing property tax liabilities to the full extent allowed by law.
* Appeal personal property tax valuations in excess of pre-determined parameters.
* Oversee the tax payment process to assure that all property tax bills are timely received, approved for payment, and paid to avoid the imposition of penalties and interest.
* Oversee the personal property tax re-bill function.
* Assure that licensing personal are provided with tax receipts that are required to license vehicles annually.
* Manage all personal property tax audits.
* Provide field personnel and the sales force with pricing and buy out information.
* Provide Planning Department with tax estimates on potential real estate & personal property transactions.
* Oversee annual vehicle property tax rating studies.
* Supervise and train property tax staff of 6 in all aspects of the personal property tax function.

Education/Experience/Skills/Required Qualifications:

* Minimum of 10-12 years of U.S. multi-state property tax experience with a clear emphasis on personal property. Ryder operates in all 50 states.
* 3-5 years supervisory experience with proven people skills.
* Excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task. Ability to pay attention to details is a must!
* Excellent research, analytical, and communication skills (both oral and written).
* Strong GAAP working knowledge of accounting for property taxes.
* Expertise in vehicle valuation a significant plus.
* CMI or CPA preferred.
