The benefits of working at Capital include interesting work, exceptional colleagues, a comfortable workplace, competitive salaries and bonuses, and health and life benefits from day one.The Programmer/Analyst (PA) works as part of a developer team responsible for automating manual processes and other application developments that are peripheral to the main accounting systems (i.e. "shadow systems"). In addition, the responsibilities include helping to improve existing applications to meet the changing needs of our business. Main responsibilities include application design and development, coding for enhancements and fixes, testing, documentation, maintenance and support. Other responsibilities may include coordinating implementation of certain upgrades to network systems such as Windows XP.Qualifications

Demonstrated knowledge and experience in requirements gathering and development

Thorough understanding of the software development lifecycle

Advanced knowledge of application design principles, practices, systems development, documentation, analysis and troubleshooting techniques

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Meeting facilitation skills

Ability to present ideas and information in group settings

The ability to create a positive and professional business relationship with internal and external clients

Technical skills: desktop application programming skills for MS Access, Domino Lotus Notes, MS Excel VBA, MS Word VBA and reporting tools

Experience with Business Objects, Oracle or Sybase a plus
