Process Controller - Settlement

Business Unit: GE MoneyFunction: FinanceResponsibilities: - Provide expert guidance to support the proper recording of financial activity in accordance with GAAP and GE Capital accounting policies.
Responsible for performing monthly analytical review of specific subject matter areas and accounts.
Provide support and input to quarterly management reporting.
Perform periodic review of account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and timely clearing of reconciling items and drive root cause analysis and underlying process improvement initiatives.
Provide support during audits
Provide expert guidance and support to questions from account reconcilers.
Responsible for maintaining a thorough understanding of the end to end business process, including transaction flow, key systems and sources which impact accounts
Responsible for incorporating business and/or accounting policy changes into existing processes and documentation as they relate to specific account groupings.
Responsible for monitoring and driving controllership through dashboard metrics and other means as required.
Responsible for initiating and participating in process improvement projects.
Participate in driving controllership skill development and knowledge transfer to all team members ~HJ~
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications: * Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance.
Minimum of six years accounting experience and demonstrated experience in leading small teams or projects.
Minimum two years experience with general ledger and other accounting systems.
Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
Personal computer proficiency (software: MS Office preferred).
Excellent organizational and follow-up skills.
Ability to influence and motivate people.
Demonstrated interpersonal and relationship building skills.
Demonstrated commitment to quality and customer service.Desired: * MBA/FMP preferred.
CPA preferred.
Advance Microsoft Excel skills; experience with flowcharting
Experience working with Access databases.General: Responsible for overall controllership of the end to end business process by working as a partner with the COE Process Owner. The Process Controller will be responsible for all controllership aspects of the specific business process and related balance sheet and income statement accounts, which includes analytical review, ensuring the integrity of account reconciliations and operationalizing accounting policies which surround the business function. The performace of these duties will be focused primarily on the Settlement Accounting area, which includes daily settlement with clients for net credit sales; oil and gas settlement through third party networks; and accounting for personal loan products, including direct to consumer.
