Private Equity Accounting Manager

Manage the Corporate Accounting Function as it relates to the general ledger, accounts payable and accounts receivable. Direct all aspects of the Company’s general ledger, including accuracy, compliance and adherence to internal control policies. Manage the month-end close process by developing and monitoring the calendar, ensuring accurate and timely completion of all entries and account reconciliations. Provide timely and accurate monthly financial reports for all companies. Position Responsibilities: 1. Departmental/Staff Development: • Evaluate current processes, recommend and implement process improvements keeping in mind effective internal controls & segregation of duties. • Provide direction and guidance for the Corporate Accounting staff in order for them to accurately and consistently perform their tasks. 2. Cash Management/Bank Accounts: • Prepare bank reconciliations for all SilverDeer investment entities. • Investigate and recommend solutions for any banking issues such as multi-store deposits, electronic funds transfers, positive pay transmissions, etc. • Work with the Director of Finance to manage cash flow for all entities 3. General Ledger Reporting • Manage the month end reporting process • Prepare monthly financials for all project entities • Aid in the preparation of operating budgets for all companies and report monthly on variances to budget. • Develop a standardized management/executive reporting package 4. Oversee Accounts Payable • Oversee 1099 MISC reporting for all companies. • Oversee sales & use tax reporting 5. Other: • Assist the Director of Finance in the analysis of operational results • All other duties as required
REQUIREMENTS
Position Qualifications: Minimum Requirements: • Four year degree in Accounting or Finance • Five to seven years experience in General Accounting with proven experience working with multiple companies. • Experience in cash management and forecasting • Experience in Private equity management or Property management preferred • Experience with Accounting and Financial Reporting software • Experience effectively leading and completing accounting related projects • Excellent oral and written communication skills • Experience with Peachtree software a plus Personal Characteristics: • Entrepreneurial outlook • Strong analytical, numerical and reasoning abilities • Participative work style • Well developed interpersonal skills.
