Shft: DaysJob Description:Provide research, vendor selection and development of the financial reporting system including coordinating all activities with Information Systems and key user departments.Develops, monitors, implements and investigates enhancements to the internal control system throughout the Alegent system while assuring compliance with GAAP.Implementation, maintenance and communication of an allocation methodology structure to result in the accurate reflection of the separate operational elements within the system.Provides support and assistance to the analytical review and CHI coordination efforts of the Finance staff.Develops, monitors and responds to a full range of financial, service and quality indicators.Maintains an effective chart of accounts which is supportive of all financial and system operational needs.Responsible for the integration and control of data between the general ledger and decision support systems.Collaborates with Operations Leader/Director, System Accounting to interpret, track and support the Joint Operating Agreement provisions.Assists Operations Leader and Director in the development of system-wide financial policies and procedures.Experience
A minimum of five (5) years in accounting or a CPA firm, with at least three (3) years of significant experience in general accounting in a healthcare environment preferred. Prior systems conversion required.Education/Licensure
A minimum of a Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance and/or be a CPA or fellow with HFMA (an equivalent combination of education and/or experience will be considered).Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Must possess a strong knowledge of Financial Management and Accounting Theory and Practice; with a thorough knowledge of applicable tax and general corporate laws, guidelines and professional standards; a keen understanding of hospital and other general health care operations; good system integration and interface skills Accounting Analyst, System Accounting assuring data integrity; excellent communication skills; strong change management skills; must demonstrate personal traits of a high-level commitment, motivation and energy; team orientation; professionalism; trust; personal honesty and integrity; and a demonstration of placing others in a place of high value and treating them with dignity and respect.
