PeopleSoft Financial Developer
An Application Developer X1 works under limited supervision to provide highly proficient application development services in support and development of business applications. Incumbents work on all phases of the application development life cycle including Initiation and Planning, Design, Development, and Implementation. They have responsibility for one or more applications, and work on multiple projects and/or manage small projects of 2 4 team members. They work with functional and technical associates to gather business requirements, provide technical support and consulting, and plan and prioritize their work, as well as coordinate the completion of work sent offshore. They not only apply established methodologies, processes, and procedures, but also contribute to development of new processes and the continuous improvement of existing processes.
Specific Accountabilities
Prepare specifications for new applications and
enhancements/upgrades to existing applications
per business requirements.
Write and/or maintain application software
according to specifications and standards.
Perform ongoing support for applications
including system/batch monitoring and
processing, handling user questions and
queries, investigating and solving system
problems, and providing on-call support
services.
Follow standard application development
controls, processes, and methodologies.
Create and maintain all required documentation
per established processes and methodologies.
Perform system analysis and design of
application components per business
requirements including pages, interfaces,
database tables, and reports.
Conduct and coordinate all aspects of software
testing including unit testing, system testing,
integration testing, and stress testing. This
includes defining criteria, creating test
scripts and scenarios, debugging, and
documenting results.
Create technical specifications for work to be
sent offshore.
Review work completed offshore
Conduct meetings with functional teams to
discuss priorities and status.
Defines and executes plans for small projects
Work closely with teams within IS to
develop/support system
integration/infrastructure.
Train and mentor less experienced associates
Perform other duties, project work, etc. as
assigned.
Establish strong customer relationships and
provide high levels of customer service.

REQUIREMENTS
Education, Certifications, Work Experience, and Technical Skills Required
Bachelors degree in Computer Science,
Information Systems, or equivalent
3 or more years of application development
experience
3 or more years experience with programming
languages (e.g. Visual Basic, C++, PeopleCode,
Application Engine, Java)
3 or more years of application development
experience with database management systems
(e.g. DB2, Access, SQL Server, Oracle)
General knowledge of operating systems (e.g.
Windows, UNIX)
Understanding of application architecture and
technology infrastructure
Knowledge Base Required
