People Soft Financial Developer

ThoughtWorks is looking to recruit an enthusiastic and self-motivated People Soft Financial Developer to work as part of our overall IS organization.

•Help our Finance department configure their needs, write appropriate reports, and understand the PeopleSoft data model in accounting terms.
•Ask questions, gather specific requirements, determine scope, and work within that scope according to a delivery plan.
•Train users on how to create and modify Queries.

REQUIREMENTS
To do this, you will most likely have the following:

•Solid understanding of accounting practices.
•Solid understanding of where the bulk of revenue and expenses are generated for a Professional Services firm.
•Solid understanding of the PeopleSoft Financials data model for GL, AP, and AR.
•Solid understanding of accounting principles for a global organization (multi-currency accounting, multi-book ledgers)
•Solid understanding of the PeopleTools development environment (App Designer, Application Engine)
•Proficiency with nVision reporting -- both matrix and tabular reporting.
•Proficiency with Query reporting.
•Proficiency with Oracle PL/SQL.
•Proficiency with writing custom SQRs.
•Proficiency with MS Excel
•Experience configuring and testing delivered PeopleSoft functionality in GL (i.e., banks and multibook ledgers), AP (i.e., different voucher types, paycycles, electronic payments, and check printing), and AR (i.e., accounting definition defaults and maintenance worksheets).
•Experience training users on how to create and modify Queries.
•Experience as a business analyst, with the ability to ask questions, gather specific requirements, determine scope, and work within that scope according to a delivery plan.
•Proficiency with Projects module and familiarity with how Projects are setup (i.e. business unit impact, efficiency of use).
•Systems administration knowledge a major plus: Linux, Windows
•Candidate must reside in Chicago or be willing to relocate to Chicago on their own.
