Requirement Type: Direct HirePurpose: Provide professional accounting assistance on assignments within the Payroll Department. Coordinate tax deposits, tax returns, tax changes and the reconciling of Federal, State and Local tax accountsTasks And Responsibilities:Make all Federal, State and Local tax deposits as required by law. Process third party payments and tax deductions to properly add them into the payroll system.
Complete and reconcile all Federal, State and Local tax returns and mail in a timely manner.
Reconcile all Federal, State and Local tax liability accounts weekly.
Watch tax publications for tax changes and work with IT to implement the tax updates.
Research tax discrepancies with related taxing agencies. Work with agents to resolve outstanding items.
Acts as a resource for payroll tax related issues.
Perform other accounting duties as assigned by supervisor and act as back-up for unusual accounting work loads.Skills, Physical Requirements And Working Conditions:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance - previous audit experience helpful.
Two or more years in accounting or finance environment; CPA preferred.
Prior payroll tax reporting experience required.
Excellent business writing, communicating and analytical skills
Excellent PC and related spreadsheet application skills. Extensive knowledge of Excel and Microsoft Access required.
