Payroll Specialist / Human Resources Assistant

Hubble Homes has become one of the largest and most respected homebuilders in the state. We have an immediate opening for a Payroll Specialist / Human Resources Assistant. This position is responsible for Benefit Administration, Payroll, Sales Compensation Processing, DOL Compliance and Human Resources activities in support of the entire company.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:Responsible to perform all payroll procedures in a timely and accurate manner
o Track changes in wages, FTO, status, taxes, insurance, loans, garnishments, 401(k) and cafeteria plans. Documents payroll adjustments.
o Ensures compliance to state and federal regulations relative to Payroll functions
o Processes and issues payments for garnishments, state/federal taxes, cafeteria plan and other deductions.
o Protects the security of employee information by maintaining strict confidentiality regarding wages, personnel and other employee information.Maintains employee benefit programs
o Reconciles invoices with payroll deduction reports and third party administrators. Processes benefit payments.Responsible to perform assigned Human Resource duties
o Completes employment verifications in accordance with policies and procedures.Handles Worker Compensation, COBRA and unemployment claims and issues.Attends meetings and in-house training as required.Provides various accounting functions such as; daily deposits for real estate trust fund account.

Limits of Authority
Makes changes to employee wages as directed in writing and in adherence to government regulations and in-house policy and procedure. Processes and submits direct deposit file to banking institution. Acts as company representative, in an accounting capacity, to third party administrators.

Relationship to Others
Maintains excellent rapport with all employees. Works closely with accounting and supervisory personnel. Provides support for and takes instruction from the Controller.

REQUIREMENTS
Experience and/or Education
Bachelor’s degree and/or relevant Payroll/Accounting experience, or a combination of experience and education.3-5 years experience as a Payroll Specialist.PHR certification preferred.

Other Qualifications
Ability to work with mathematical concepts, define problems, collect data, and draw conclusions. Ability to read, analyze and interpret complex documents and to respond to sensitive inquiries. Must be able to maintain strict confidentiality of employee sensitive information.
