Payroll Clerk III

If you bring these qualities to your work, then we'd like you to consider joining our team.Under general supervision, processes bi-weekly payrolls, including but not limited to updating, adding and deleting employee information. This is the senior level position of the Payroll Clerk class series. Carries out responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies, procedures, and state, federal and local laws.
Processes bi-weekly payrolls including updating, adding, and/or deleting employee information.
Compiles payroll data such as hours worked, sales, taxes, insurance and 401(k).
Prepares computer input forms, enters data or computes wages and deductions, and posts to payroll records.
Reviews wages, and computes and corrects errors to ensure accuracy.
Records changes affecting net wages such as exemptions and loan payments for each employee to update master payroll records.
Prepares special and recurring reports such as earnings, taxes and deductions.
Maintains payroll related records and/or documentation.
Complies with all Company policies and procedures, including safety rules and regulations.
Serves as technical advisor on time reporting issues involving Company policies and Automated Data Processing (ADP) systems.
Investigates and corrects time sheet errors and tracks occurrences for process improvements.
Performs related duties as assigned.Qualifications
Minimum of four (4) years directly related and progressively responsible experience, including:
Knowledge of:
Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and other regulatory requirements.
Payroll policies, procedures and practices.
Federal, state and local laws and regulations pertaining to payroll, Wage and Hour, and other related disciplines.
Mathematical applications, calculations and/or computations.
Computer systems and software applications.
Current Company policies and procedures, including safety rules and regulations.
English usage, spelling, grammar and punctuation.
Skill in:
Implementing goals, objectives and practices for effective, efficient and cost effective management of allocated resources.
Interpreting and applying Company policies and procedures, and Federal, State and local laws pertaining to payroll activities.
Reviewing, analyzing and correcting mathematical calculations/computations.
Communicating clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
Establishing and maintaining effective relationships with individuals contacted in the course of work.
Organizing and managing multiple duties, and working within time constraints.
