Payroll Auditor

Our Getzville, NY location is currently searching for a Payroll Auditor.
Job Objective: Ensure all payroll-funding, taxes, journal entries and associated Payroll/Benefits G/L accounts are accurate and reconciled.
REQUIREMENTS
Payroll Accounting and Tax Reconciliation: Prepare bi-weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual tax reconciliations. Ensure that both payroll and tax funding is accurate and timely each pay period. Assist Corporate Finance with payroll/benefits related G/L reconciliations. Ensure compliance with both federal and state/provincial regulations as applicable.
Year End Reporting and Auditing: Ensure that all year-end reports are balanced prior to W2/T4 issuance. Reconcile all W2/T4 forms and assist in the preparation of corrected forms, if necessary. Ensure that all year-end tax returns are prepared and submitted timely, and all magnetic media submissions, as required, are completed and submitted on time.
Internal/External Audits: Act as primary contact for all internal and external payroll/benefits audits. Assist QA Manager with document requests for payroll/benefits audits as necessary. Ensure all audits are completed timely and accurately.
Other Responsibilities: From time to time will be asked by supervisor to assist with special projects and other duties as deemed necessary.

Education and/or Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field from four-year college or university; and three to five years audit experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of Federal, State and Provincial wage/hour and tax regulations a must.
Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral diagram, or schedule form.
