Patient Accounting Financial Analyst

Position Summary: Responsible for writing , programming, and running various reports on mainframe and pc-based systems, reviewing, analyzing and summarizing data, and functioning as a liaison and resource for management and staff.

Essential Job Functions
Complete special projects as assigned by the director, including initiating chargemaster additions for new services that Carle begins, creating and providing financial reports to managers and directors of ancillary departments or auditors upon request, calculating financial reimbursement models at month-end, and maintaining statistics.
Prepare year-end audit reports and reconciliations for reimbursement case-mix schemes.
Create, maintain and run Olie programs such as automated cash posting, therapy registrations, etc.
Write, download and analyze daily and monthly reports, prepare supplemental computerized reports, and provide assistance as needed in interpretation of data.
Assist patient accounting employees, other Carle employees, auditors and patients with system questions, procedural issues and any problems or complaints they might have.
Assist with governmental rules and regulations changes and updates.
Develop policies and procedures in conjunction with mangement staff and train and update Carle staff.
REQUIREMENTS
Education Requirements: Bachelor's Degree
Accounting, Business Education Preferences: Master's Degree Preferred

Experience: 2 years of accounting experience

Other Skills: Must have excellent interpersonal and analytical skills, be proficient with personal computers and financial software, be familiar with mainframe computer systems, and have a good working knowledge of accounting principals.
