Oracle Financials Director/Manager

RESPONSIBILITIES: The candidate is responsible for managing a team of technical professionals assigned to enhance and support Oracle financial applications and other peripheral reporting applications. Primary responsibilities will include defining, delivering and managing development projects and services within a larger software team and managing professionals that build, manage and support an Oracle financials system (GL, AP, FA, PO modules and related workflow), which includes oversight functions, providing support and maintenance activities for the production system, in a complex global environment. Duties will also include management of production problems identification and resolution processes while working in coordination with operations and Finance business teams. It is assumed that the successful candidate will provide expertise in analyzing business requirements, evaluating architectural implications and managing stakeholder relationships. Effective customer communication is essential to this position. Secondary job responsibilities: May include supporting and communicating customizations for one or more peripheral applications included in the Oracle Financials environment, which include packaged software, both out-of-the-box and customized, as well as custom interfaces to applications requiring integration with Oracle. The candidate must have the ability to present Oracle Financials implementation proposals to business and product teams in the context of performance, timelines, workflow and security. The candidate will be responsible for managing resource planning and utilization for the team. The candidate must have the ability to work with non-technical customers and third party vendors, and provide professional development, mentoring and educational opportunities to enhance staff skills. The candidate must be capable of managing remote development staff efficiently and effectively, have collaboration skills, an ability to interpret and define user enhancement requests, and be up-to-date on a variety of database solutions.

REQUIREMENTS: A minimum of seven years software development expertise required. Project management and development management expertise, with financial experience preferred. Minimum Bachelors Degree in CS, Finance or related field. Graduate degree preferred. Ideally, the candidate will have an understanding of core financial modules and possess general business process knowledge of how these modules are used by a Finance department, but minimally must have a technical background with ERP experience. The candidate must be a creative individual, with an understanding of how to motivate and manage technical staff as well as foster an environment of teamwork and collaboration. Strong problem solving skills are imperative. Experience in profit-loss management a plus.
