Operations Business Analyst

We are currently looking for a Operations Business Analyst, to join our team in Hanover Park, IL.
BASIC FUNCTION OF JOB
The OBA is responsible for the identification and development of business process changes and improvements for one or multiple business areas at Insight. This usually requires analysis of what is needed and development of functional and/or process requirements as well as the documentation, training, and testing, requisite changes. This person will consult with department and business counterparts to identify current operating procedures and to clarify program objectives. The incumbent will have knowledge of commonly used business and system concepts, practices, and procedures. The incumbent will rely on instructions, policy, and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job and will work under immediate supervision.
The OBA must participate actively as a liaison and ambassador between the business community and the technical community. The incumbent should participate actively as an OBA team member by passing on business, process, and system expertise to other team members in a cooperative team environment.
The OBA should bring an understanding of business processes and business policy to the team as well as some background in SAP. The desire to continue personal education in related areas such as business and process improvement is important.

1.Identify, analyze, and recommend business process changes and improvements in business areas at Insight.
2.Liaison between business community and business information systems.
3.Act as a conduit for alignment of business and technology goals and objectives.
4.Assist in forging a personalized working relationship between the various business units and IS by understanding the business needs and idiosyncrasies of each business unit.
5.Develop and refine skills of business team members in areas of SAP awareness and business analysis.
6.Pursue continuing education in the areas of business strategy, analysis and technology.
7.Communicate effectively and credibly with all organizational levels, with the specific ability to gain trust, draw out needs, creatively propose ideas, and discuss issues and concerns.
8.Understand the ever-changing business environment of Insight and the specifics of each functional business department.
9.Design and document business processes.
10.Follow and understand how requested changes will affect the various functional departments and functionality of other modules within SAP.
11.Develop and execute test scripts and plans (unit and integration)
12.Communicate status of change requests and other programs to business units
13.Pursue continuing professional education in the areas of business analysis, process improvement, and technical skills through course training, self-study, participation in professional organizations such as ASUG, etc.
14.Perform other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
4 years of experience in specialty or related field. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business/ professional journals, technical procedures, or regulations. Ability to write reports and/or business correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers, other employees.
Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints. Ability to write using original or innovative techniques or style. Ability to make effective and/or persuasive presentations on controversial or complex topics to top management and/or boards of directors.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Education and/or Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or equivalent combination of education and experience. Bachelor's degree (B. A./B.S.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
