Performance Profile/Responsibilities:
NOC Engineers are responsible for monitoring and managing global infrastructure servers and network devices, ensuring adherence to documented procedures, deploying network management software and hardware, monitoring and maintaining the Global Network Operations Center environment as required.
As a member of a 24x7 support team, this position is for the THIRD SHIFT and FOURTH SHIFT of the Global Network Operations Center. (4:00 PM EST – 12:00 AM EST/11:00 PM EST - 7:00 AM EST.
ÂUtilize problem solving skills for server related/software related and network related issues.
ÂDemonstrate an understanding of Network routing fundamentals, Network transmission principles to troubleshoot switch and router configurations.
ÂWill use effective communication skills, written/verbal, to support functional strategies, and track/document work strategies for ticket resolution.
ÂWill use strong analytical skills to identify origin/nature of issue and offer cost effective solutions.
Position Specific Requirements:
1-3 years experience with Microsoft Windows 2000/2003, Cisco Software and Hardware, WAN / LAN Networks.
1-3 years experience with some the following: IP Telephony, NetIQ, Update Expert, Veritas, CiscoWorks LMS, Microsoft Exchange, Prognosis, Concord Network and Fault Management Tools.
At least 1 year working experience with DNS and other Internet protocols.
Preferred Requirements:
Bachelors or advanced degree
Network or server certification a plus
