Job Description: Summary
Plans, develops, recommends, and monitors procedures and systems used in financial, process and operational audits throughout the organization. Verifies the accuracy and compliance of DHL's internal records with company policy and procedures. Ensures internal controls are adequate to protect DHL against misuse and fraud. Evaluates the efficiency, effectiveness, and compliance with corporate policies and procedures, laws, and government regulations. Recommends and makes improvements to policies and procedures.
Tasks & Accountabilities
Plans, recommends, installs and administers procedures and systems used for the organization's overall audit program. Directs audit procedures and systems. Determines the nature and extent of the auditing required within an audit project, and makes adjustments where necessary. Provides management review of accounting, financial, information systems and other operations by measuring and evaluating the effectiveness of accounting and management controls. Recommends new or revised changes and controls to DHL's policies and procedures to ensure efficiency and compliance. Monitors systems to ensure accuracy and consistency. Directs the most complex internal auditing projects. Provides reports to management on audit findings. Supervises two or more staff, responsible for hiring, coaching, training, and developing subordinate staff. Assigns work, sets completion dates, reviews work, and manages performance in accordance with organizational policies, procedures, and performance management processes.Skills & Qualifications
Has extensive depth of expertise and knowledge in specialized functions or business areas. A thorough understanding of specific aspects of work supervised and practical application to problems and situations ordinarily encountered. Develops advanced concepts, techniques, and standards. Develops new applications based on professional principles and theories. Viewed as expert in functional or business area within DHL. Deals with cross-cultural tactical issues. Typically requires BS/BA and 6-8 years experience in related field, including at least 2 years of supervisory experience.
