Mgr - Credit Bureau Management
Responsible for the management of credit bureau activities related to portfolio management. This person is required to have broad and detailed knowledge of the bureaus as well as strong leadership skills. Strong communication and project management skills are required as this position will interact with all areas of the Discover Card business as well as each of the national credit bureaus.
Principal Responsibilities and Duties:
Lead the organization toward the development and enhancement of innovative portfolio management programs at the bureaus to cost effectively grow receivables while achieving strong business results.
Develop strategies to leverage existing and new credit bureau products, people, services, and scores on behalf of portfolio management.
Collaborate with Customer Credit Policy, Decision Science Capabilities, Risk Systems Management and Marketing to develop an integrated approach toward file update which may include monthly data, cycle based data, trigger data, tradeline data, bureau geographic preference, and/or alternative sources of data.
Assesses value and acquire alternative data to improve the effectiveness of portfolio credit strategies, models and analytics.
Manage projects related to the implementation of credit bureau data, products, and services as required. Develop and execute project plans to add/convert data sources to portfolio review processing.
Strong, detailed knowledge of existing, emerging, and planned bureau data, products, and services that have potential portfolio usage is required for this position.
An intimate understanding of available bureau attributes, including their composition, and knowledge of their difference between online and offline is required.
Facilitate interactions with bureau consulting groups (e.g., ADS, Predictive Sciences, Scorex, etc.,.) as required (e.g., benchmarking, modeling, etc.,.).
Provide bureau support to the Small Business Card initiative launch (portfolio review as well as acquisition). Research and communicate related bureau capabilities to decision makers.
REQUIREMENTS
REQUIRED SKILLS:
A college degree in business, math or statistics is required. An MBA is preferred.
Proven knowledge and expertise in managing third parties, financials, and production processes. Five to eight years experience in the credit card industry.
Demonstrated leadership skills with a track record of business accomplishment.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required. Ability to work well with minimal direction. Extensive project management skills and leadership skills are required.
Demonstrated ability to work with and manage automated processes. Extensive PC skills.
