Medical Insurance Billing and Coding Instructor

Corinthian Colleges, Inc. a publicly traded corporation and one of the nation's leading providers of post-secondary training for adult learners with 91 campuses in 22 states and 46 colleges plus 15 corporate training centers in seven Canadian provinces is currently seeking highly motivated, goal-oriented Medical Insurance Billing and Coding Instructor to teach part-time for our Everest College - Arlington, TX campus.

Responsibilities include:
Maintain a teaching assignment each module.
Plan course instruction based upon approved syllabus/outline provided, to assure that course content and objectives are met. Distribute a copy of the module calendar to all students at first class meeting.Cover all material in depth and scope as described in syllabus.Utilize a variety of teaching styles and methods to accommodate diverse learning styles of students.
Design, administer and grade examinations to assess achievement of course objectives as identified in the syllabus.
Begin class at the designated time and provide a full period of instruction for the class periods(s) involved.Follow the approved break schedule.Actively work to maintain retention in all classes taught, by maintaining accurate attendance records daily, calling all students who are absent, and recording absentee information in roster after each class meeting and communicating attendance “concerns” to the Program Chair or DOE.Assure that classroom or laboratory is left in a clean and orderly condition at the end of each class period.Enforce administrative campus policies.Participate in departmental faculty meetings at the end of each module.Offer suggestions and recommendations regarding revisions to the curriculum to the Program Chair or DOE.Recruit area business/professional individuals interested in education for positions on the department’s Advisory Board.Be available to advise students, tutor and provide other assistance as needed.Attend all quarterly faculty in-service meetings.Perform other duties as assigned by Program Chair or DOE
REQUIREMENTS
Certification in Medical Billing OR Coding.
5 Years of Medical Billing Experience or Degree plus 3 Years of Medical Billing Experience.
Teaching experience is preferred, but not required.
