General Summary of Duties - Reimbursement Specialist
Under the supervision of Billing Team Leaders/Supervisors, this position performs the complete billing cycle for physician practices which includes but is not limited to the following:
Enters patient registration information into the assigned billing system
Using the charge document supplied by the Practice, enters billing information related to claims submission into the assigned billing system
Returns incomplete information and monitors to ensure information is obtained
Generates and submits claims forms and / or patient statements
Generates and resolves reports related to claims submission
Posts patient and / or insurance payments
Generates refunds as applicable
Performs follow up on outstanding claims as directed
Identifies and resolves problems with submissions on the carrier and practice level
Maintains strict patient confidentiality
Performs practice set up functions as requested or needed
Provides support to the practice as requested or needed
Provides excellent customer service to patients and clients
Performs other related duties as required or requested

REQUIREMENTS
Position Requirements:
Attention to detail with the ability to produce high quality work
General knowledge of ICD9 diagnostic and CPT procedural coding
Thorough knowledge of third party carriers
Ability to operate computerized billing system
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Ability to identify and resolve problems
Account follow up experience with insurance and self pay accounts
Work effectively as part of a team
Ability to follow directions
Excellent customer service skills
