Manager of International Accounting

Manages Franchise accounting, audits royalty and commission bills to license partners, and partners with the Franchise Operations Director to evaluate reserve adequacy/potential write-offs. Prepares/audits International legal entity reporting and manages consolidations. Partners with the Corporate Accounting department to ensure proper eliminations and analyses Intercompany reconciliations. Audits Purchase Price Accounting adjustments and reports. Provides markets with appropriate local entries in response to changes in accounting policies in coordination with the Financial policy and External reporting team. Analyzes local market tax provisions and ensures entries are booked properly.

Principle Accountabilities:

·Prepares and approves journal entries to record royalty receivables and purchase commissions for our license businesses.
·Evaluates adequacy of franchise reserves/writeoffs.
·Analyses both P&L and Balance Sheet statements/accounts monthly. Audits issues.
·Analyzes and compares cash against receivable balances and audits differences
·Prepares and approves monthly billing statements with sales, royalty %, and purchase data for the license businesses
·Develops legal entity reports and audits Hyperion statements
·Manages the legal entity consolidation process.
·Assists in the preparation of the Management Discussion and Analysis for public filings as well as legal entity reporting.
·Analyzes the Purchase Price Allocation adjusted sets of books and develops reports vs. the recap set of books.
·Partners with the local financial management staff to documents changes in accounting policies and the local impacts
·Analyzes local tax provision entries
·Data extraction from Oracle, Hyperion, FNS, and other systems
·Develops ad-hoc reporting of actual, budget, prior year International division/Europe Legal Entity, and Toys International Legal Entity financial results.
·Audits US GAAP adjustments in Japan
·Handles consolidation of Japanese financial statements
·Participates on BPM team for consolidations component
·Supervises one Senior Accountant
·5-10% of overseas travel may be required

Nature and Scope:
The position reports to the Director of International Finance and the responsibilities include handling the accounting for Franchise, Legal Entity consolidation and reporting, Purchase Price Allocation accounting, and analyzing/auditing financial policies in the local market books, and Japan consolidations.

Supervisory responsibility of one Senior Accounting is required in this position with ongoing contact with management in the local market financial staff.

Knowledge of US GAAP, ability to analyze the impacts and applications of financial policies, technical accounting experience, and strong communications skills are critical elements in this position. The position requires an incumbent that is able to handle tight deadlines and multi-task across numerous projects.
REQUIREMENTS
·Bachelor’s degree in accounting/Masters degree preferred
·CPA required.
·Knowledge of GAAP accounting policy recommended
·Five or more years of related experience; retail experience preferred
·Good oral/written communication and presentation skills
·Ability to communicate with many levels of management
·Analytical ability
·Ability to review and question assumptions
·Managing assigned tasks and adheres to deadlines
·Strong computer skills. Specifically, Microsoft Excel, Access, Powerpoint, Oracle General Ledger, Hyperion
·Knowledge of data extraction from databases including Essbase and Hyperion
