Manager, Technical Accounting & Research

Purpose:
Our client, a large and reputable Fortune 40 company, is looking for a talented Accounting Manager to join their team.

Compensation:
Commensurate with experience but targeting 85-120K + bonus. Excellent benefits.

-Responsible for evaluating new accounting and/or regulatory standards
-Assist with the development and documentation of current accounting policies, and assisting with the research of technical accounting issues
-Work directly with senior executives and business owners to provide accounting guidance regarding new accounting standards and/or regulatory standards and assist in operationalizing such standards.
-Provide assistance in acquisition due diligence in accordance with evaluating accounting policy risks, reviewing agreements, participating in the accounting rulemaking process
-Support financial system integration efforts, including process improvement and internal control development and ensuring financial processes and policies are in compliance with current accounting standards
-Collaborate with external auditors in terms of establishing accounting policies and best practices
-Provide accounting updates and training seminars to other accountants working for the Company

Experience/Education Required:
-College degree, CPA required
-4-6 years of experience
-national public accounting firm experience desired
-Strong familiarity with U.S. GAAP
-Team player that has the ability to communicate clearly and concisely to all levels of management in a non-technical manner

Position is not dry research but very progressive and cutting edge. This team supports the organization (Ops, Engineering, IT, etc) behind the scenes in a highly regarded advisory capacity. Very involved in transaction structure, complex accounting treatment, etc.
