Job Description:
The Manager Financial Analysis and Planning manages and leads the financial analysis reporting and planning function supporting several Enterprise Support Service's sub-areas. This individual is responsible for selections of staff; the mentoring and development of an assigned group; and the interpretation of financial results, report generation and cost analysis. This individual identifies business trends; recommends courses of action to management; and leads the implementation of advances in technology and software to meet changing business needs. This individual may also support the design, implementation, and ongoing development of firmwide annual financial planning processes, as well as the integration of firmwide operational planning processes into the overall Annual Plan process. This professional provides decision support to the Enterprise Support Service Business Unit. Responsibilities Provide leadership for the Financial Analyst group in the Enterprise Support Service National Finance Prepare, review and consolidate annual budgets and outlooks. Participate in the preparation of the annual budget and assist in tracking expenditures in order to operate within approved budget guidelines. Assist on developing firmwide planning information and guidelines for communication to Enterprise Support Service in preparation of their annual plans and financial outlooks. Manage the preparation and reporting of the financial plans and outlooks for senior leadership. Work with Enterprise Support Service leadership to provide financial analyses and support in developing their financial plans. Assist in the reporting of monthly financial results to senior management. Prioritize tasks to accomplish firm or business unit goals and objectives. Provide guidance, direction, and counseling for the Analyst group. Mentor and train individuals to master tasks of increasing complexity. Implement/participate in driving key initiatives that involve process or procedural change for the organization. Provide basic training and soft skills for Financial Analysts assigned. Provide data and interpretation of financial results, including statistical analysis, written communications and oral presentations. Maintain high employee morale that includes encouraging teamwork and building strong internal and external client relationships. Create and implement best practices for process improvement. Assist in the month end Profit and Loss close. Assist with the preparation and analysis of confidential information. Investigate capabilities of software upgrades to improve reporting function. REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications: To qualify, candidates must have: a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or equivalent experience preferred approximately 5-7+ years of experience in a professional atmosphere in a finance/business capacity with at least 3 years of supervisory, forecasting and budgeting experience financial management, financial assistant, and/or financial analyst experience beneficial computer proficiency; be proficient or trainable in complex aspects of financial software packages, including Essbase, Hyperion, Business Objects, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Internet Explorer, and Lotus Notes strong time management and organizational skills ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and effectively ability to gain respect of both the finance community and client serving teams good presentation, leadership, problem-solving, analytical, and listening skills ability to work with individuals at all levels within the organization ability to teach new skills to others a good aptitude for dealing with complex systems issues a quality improvement-oriented, professional approach strong written and oral communication skills
