Program: Center for Applied Biodiversity Science
Reports To: Director of Finance & OperationIn cooperation with the Director of Finance & Operations, manage and monitor CABS budgeting, contracting process and training of department staff. Responsible for processing, administering and monitoring budgets and contracts of assigned projects. Ensures consistent and accurate entry of budget and contract information into CI’s financial accounting tracking and reporting system, as well as accurate analysis and presentation of this information. Responsible for assisting assigned Programs financially and contractually to facilitate their administration and monitoring of budgets and contracts in accordance with CABS objectives, CI policies, procedures, systems, and donor requirements. Assists the Director of Finance & Operations to design and implement systems to adequately administer CABS program agreements, budgets and donor data. Assists with other administrative activities using initiative and judgement, knowledge of organizational policy, CI and administrative skills. Salary Range: $46,000.00 - 51,000.00Responsibilities:Prepares and manages administrative plans and budgets including compilation and analysis of information for annual operations Responsible for managing the finances of assigned departmental programs. Reconciles expenses related to accounting system Maintains and monitors budget Ensures budget complies with donor requirements and CI policies and procedures Assist Senior Program Officers &/or Program’s Financial Specialist with budget projections and financial analysis Prepares proposl budgets to donors Resposible for financial reports to donors, including foundations, USG, and multi-lateral organizations Responsible for issuing agreements and corresponding payments for assigned programs. Reviews & analyzes grant financial reports under his/her supervision to ensure compliance with CI and donor requirements Responsible for monitoring departmental needs in terms of financial training and communicating results to Director of Finance and Operations Assist Director of Finance and Operations in developing and delivering workshops and meetings Provides support to the Director of Finance & Operations in the management and coordination of day-to-day administrative operations and special projectsQualifications:EDUCATION: Bachelor's DegreeREQUIRED SKILLS & CAPABILITIES: Word processing and spreadsheet familiarity is required Working knowledge of budgeting, financial systems and financial reporting Experience with grants and contract development and management Requires attention to detail and the ability to operation with considerable independence to effectively establish priorities and work accurately under time constraints Knowledge of Foundation and US government funding preferred Strong communication skills Excellent organizational and quantitative skills PREFERRED SKILLS & CAPABILITIES: Bilingual skills preferred Candidates should enjoy facilitating the work of othersYEARS OF EXPERIENCE: 3Conservation International Values:
