Manager, Credit and Collections

Department: AccountingStericycle is a national service company that provides safe and cost-effective medical waste management and compliance services for a variety of customers in the healthcare industry.Due to our rapid expansion and growth, we are currently seeking to fill the position of Credit and Collections Manager.This position is responsible for a 15+member team of professional collectors as well as the implementation of credit functions. This role will lead the department in continuous improvement and development opportunities including the automation of collection activities. This position will work closely with the customer service department, billing department, and cash application department to provide an integrated approach to exceeding our customer’s expectations. This position reports to the Director of Billing, Cash Applications and Collections.Specific Responsibilities
Responsible for the management of the department’s team members including staffing, performance evaluations, and career development.
Drive process improvements and innovation to improve workflow, reduce delinquencies and improve customer satisfaction utilizing 6 sigma processes
Work directly with the customer service department to integrate billing issues and adjustments with a “one stop shop” philosophy.
Administering and enforcing credit and collections policies and procedures
Selecting and managing the relationship of third-party collection agencies
Daily interaction with the collection staff to resolve issues
Complete and review department reporting and measurementsExperience:
Minimum 8-10 years experience in the Collections and Credit profession.
Prior experience working in a multi location/multi state environment.
Prior process design and improvement involvement.Job Requirements: Bachelor's degree with 8-10 years experience
Knowledge of Collection Laws and requirements
Knowledge of cash application systems
Computer skills including working knowledge of Microsoft Office software
Strong organizational skills with ability to multi-task and prioritize in an environment with frequent interruptions.
Excellent communication/ listening skills
Presentation skills including creating PowerPoint presentations.
Detail oriented
Knowledge of 6 sigma initiatives and implementation
A self starter with the ability to problem-solve and make decisions with minimal supervision
