Manager, Audit

KPMG LLP is the audit, tax and advisory firm with the strongest growth record over the past decade. We offer our clients industry insights and a multidisciplinary range of services. We are currently seeking an Audit Manager to join us in our Birmingham office.
KPMG’s Audit practice uses a methodology that transforms the audit process from a traditional compliance-driven function to a risk-based approach by creating a framework for auditors to assess how a client's business risks affect financial statements. This approach offers a more comprehensive view of how a client's unique risk environment affects its financial reporting.Responsibilities:

Manage and supervise the execution of external audit engagements of various clients, including Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) registrants

Review SEC filings

Research technical accounting issues

Manage client accounts including billing, fee analysis and new service development

Assist with the career development of team members

Identify performance improvement opportunities for assigned clients

Work with other Managers to help ensure the proper deployment of the audit staff

Understand and utilize KPMG’s Audit MethodologyQualifications:

Five years of current and/or recent audit public accounting experience

BA/BS degree from an accredited college/university

Licensed CPA in the State of Alabama or eligible for reciprocity

Demonstrated supervisory experience

Applied working knowledge of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and accounting procedures

Able to meet challenging client requirements and provide exceptional service

Strong communication, interpersonal, analytical and research skills

Willing and able to travel
