Manager, Accounting

Minimum Qualifications:
A Bachelor Degree (BA/BS) in Accounting or Finance, plus ten (10) or more years of related experience is required which would include at least four (4) years of supervisory experience. An advanced degree or professional certification is a plus.

Skills Needed:
Must have a strong background in general, cost, project and contract accounting and possess excellent spreadsheet skills and account analysis skills. Must be detail oriented, organized and energetic. Must be an accomplished self-starter. Must have excellent written and oral communication skills. Must be able to manage employees for success and be able to prepare them for advancement. Must have substantial prior experience with an a thorough understanding of general ledger accounting systems. Must possess project leadership skills. Must be able to manage for success under strict deadlines.

Duties Specific to the Position:
Will be responsible for a wide variety of accounting functions, including the management of the monthly balance sheet reconciliation process, the financial close process and the preparation of financial statements and schedules. this individual will be required to support the yearly Incurred Cost submission process and respond to inquiries from various auditors and management personnel. this individual will be responsible for maintaining general and subsidiary ledgers. Other responsibilities will include individual account reconciliations and analysis, entering journal entries, fixed asset control and depreciation, accrual liability analysis and support the preparation of company tax reports. Other duties as required or directed.
