Liability Claims Adjuster IV/Lead-ARIC

Determines covered loss by discussing with policyholder, interpreting policy coverage and explaining coverage for all product lines. Provides claims information by documenting claims transactions and preparing and forwarding reports. Completes claims by investigating the facts and reaching agreements with claimants and their legal counsel up to specified authority. Maintains high accuracy rate. Deals with claims which are in litigation and manages such through defense counsel, medical and other experts. Serves as a resource to others in the resolution of complex problems and issues. Resolves the most severe and complex issues and problems. Engages in advanced quality assurance activities.



Handles a pending of 125 - 150 claims per month.

Analyzes new claims for coverage.

Determines liability and damages through a thorough investigation of facts and reviewing reports.

Provides effective customer service to policyholders, claiments and agents.

Manages claims in litigation by providing direction to defense counsel and review of documents.

Is an effective team player and provides assistance to others with the department and company.
























REQUIREMENTS


Experience: 8+ years of related experience in the function or similar activity outside the organization. Knowledge in duties of all vendors (including attorneys). Has gained experience in the supervision of subordinates. Knowledgeable in litigation terminology, techniques and strategy. Capable of directing panel counsel. Must obtain adjuster licenses in required states. Can obtain licenses after beginning employment. Arizona licenses would be a plus.



Supervision: Works under general supervision. Relies on experience and judgement to plan and accomplish assigned tasks and goals. Orients, trains, assigns and checks the work of lower level associates.



Skills: Applies expert problem solving skills to the most complex of issues. Applies sophisticated negotiating techniques. Recognizes and recommends areas needing improvement. Learns to schedule and coordinate team activities. Applies fair claims practices acts for all states.
