Lead Internal Control Analyst

This position will perform internal audit reviews at all DRS locations in support of ensuring that the company maintains a strong internal control environment. The primary emphasis during the next year will be on performing reviews to ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX). Team with other DRS Internal Controls auditors and/or auditors from DRS’ outsourced internal auditor to perform reviews focused on the following: examine department and business unit activity for compliance with company policy and management plans; inspect accounting systems to determine their effectiveness and efficiency; perform asset efficiency tests to determine asset utilization and make recommendations for improvement; obtain and analyze information for evidence of deficiencies in internal control, duplication of effort, extravagance, fraud, or lack of compliance with laws, government regulations, and management policies or procedures; assist DRS executive personnel in conducting due diligence reviews of recently acquired companies or potential acquisitions.In addition, will support the efforts of the DRS Vice President, Internal Controls in developing a world-class internal audit function at DRS by developing processes, policies and standard programs for conducting reviews and performing a comprehensive risk assessment of DRS. Will develop and maintain a three-year audit plan, encompassing all relevant DRS sites, processes and programs. Will determine what talent needs to be recruited into the organization and assist in identifying and interviewing these individuals. Travel requirements are fairly extensive and will average approximately 40%. Virtually all travel will occur in the continental US.Position requires a BA/BS degree preferably in Accounting, CPA/MBA preferred plus 7-10 years experience. Candidate should possess a thorough knowledge of accounting and advanced audit skills and apply applicable technical expertise to audit situations. Will supervise all aspects of an internal audit project, including daily supervision of other staff assigned to project and successfully lead team and assist in building strong audit teams.This opportunity is located at the Corporate Headquarters of DRS Technologies, Inc. in Parsippany, New Jersey.
