Inventory & Cost Accounting Manager
JOB DESCRIPTION:This is a great advancement opportunity for a sharp candidate within a corporate setting of a mid-size to larger manufacturing company. The job description below describes a larger portion of the responsibilities:* Provide leadership for high quality, on-schedule cost accounting and inventory activities, including physical inventory, standards setting, obsolescence, and variance reporting and analysis. * Maintain and improve the integrity of the cost accounting/inventory processes and systems. Pro-actively monitor key indicators, communicating and resolving problems thereby preventing significant negative financial surprises. * Coach staff and encourage a culture of ownership and accountability. * Lead projects as needed to improve financial processes. * Ensure quality, up-to-date account reconciliations. JOB REQUIREMENTS: Qualified candidates will have:* Bachelor's Degree (Accounting preferred)* Over 9 years job related experience, over 3 years supervisory experience, and over 1 year managerial experience. * Other qualifying requirements include knowledge of inventory and cost accounting practices in a fabrication/finish/assembly manufacturing environment; working knowledge of information systems* Proven leader with ability to coach staff and encourage culture of ownership and accountability * Demonstrated financial process improvement experience; demonstrated problem solving skills; excellent communication and interpersonal skills; and able to work additional hours during peak periods in order to meet deadlines and commitments. * Certified Public Accountant ("CPA") preferred.
