DEPARTMENT SUPERVISOR (Inventory Control) must be knowledgeable in all facets of the department. Must be able to think on his/her feet and make sound decisions with the support of the Department Manager. Must be able to fill in and complete management and clerical duties as needed. Department Supervisors must maintain order and productivity in the department and ensure Department Managers instruction is carried out throughout the shift.

The overall mission of this position involves supplying auto parts and accessories to the Advance Auto Parts store locations. All Advance Auto Parts Team members will be required to assist in any department (other than their primary department) when and where their assistance is required.
These departments may include: Shipping, Receiving, Replenishment Reclamation, Inventory Control, etc.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Inventory Control) include the following, but not limited to these. The Department Supervisor may perform any number of duties and functions within the Department. Assist Department Manager with daily departmental duties.

Meet with Department Manager to review the workload. Includes allocation of team members, discuss goals and objectives for the shift, and team member performance.

Fully understand all facets of the Inventory Control Department.

Run all required reports necessary for inventory tracking and control.

Do audits on put-away pallets and cycle counts to verify accuracy in counting, check for pallets not put away properly, check for vendor issues.

Keep the workflow moving through the department as specified by the Department Manager.

Ensure the team members have all of the necessary tools to do their jobs.

Be constantly available in work location to assist as needed and resolve issues as required.

Regularly communicate with the Department Manager on issues that arise and be able to react as required.



ADDITIONAL DUTIES
Counting product in the pick location and reserve location, to insure inventory accuracy.

Will be involved in all areas of inventory control – cycle counting, auditing, and physical inventory.

Assign pick locations for New Skus

Sales Condition pick locations to improve fill, receiving, and putaway efficiencies

Count pick face and reserves to insure inventory accuracy.

Ensure the proper processing of DC Inventory of “Vendor Call Backs”

Supervise the Shipping Exception Clerk to prevent unnecessary Lost Sales during the picking process.

Open boxes, plastic and other packages.

Consolidate pallets in reserve and pick locations to make room for more SKU’s.

May be required to remove damaged product as necessary from reserve or pick location.

May often be re-assigned to work on re-labeling or re-packaging SKU’s

Uses the computer enter records. Will be required to use a radio frequency device (R.F. Unit)

Uses equipment (pallet jack, forklift, order picker, reach truck, etc.)

Keeps work area neat, clean and hazard free.

Other related duties as assigned.
